A baroque mix of revolutionary politics, pop culture and semiotics based on the play by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. A young prince learns that life is just a dream from which we wake when we die. And that dreams may be as real as life.
The play’s central themes are the conflict between free will and fate, as well as restoring one’s honor. It remains one of Calderón’s best-known and most studied works, and was listed as one of the 40 greatest plays of all time in The Independent.

Senior Theatre Festival

This Senior Theatre Festival is the capstone of experiential learning in the program, and draws on all areas of study in the major, while also mirroring many aspects of professional work in the field post-degree. Theatre Arts faculty provide guidance, beginning with thesis-oriented readiness assessment during junior interviews.
