Residence Life would love to have you! We know students currently abroad or going abroad in the spring are also thinking about their future leadership opportunities on campus, and we hope being a Residence Life staff member is at the top of that list.

The Residence Life leaders play an integral role in helping first-year students transition into college and providing sophomores, juniors, and seniors with resources for academic success. We are seeking highly motivated students with leadership experience and potential. RAs, RCCs, and GHCs can expect to develop a variety of skills throughout the year that will help them continue to grow personally and professionally.

The deadline for application materials is January 27, 2020, however if you will be studying abroad spring 2020, we ask that you contact our department if you plan on applying so we can adequately arrange our application process to fit your unique situation. Please email reslife@pugetsound.edu if you intend to apply, or have any questions about the process.

After the experience you have gained from studying abroad, we highly encourage you consider utilizing your new-found perspectives and experiences to make an impact on the Puget Sound residential community by joining our staff next year!

FAQs From Students Abroad

What does the individual interview look like from abroad?

We do our very best to schedule a Skype interview with candidates from abroad. We know depending on your location, the quality of audio and/or video can vary widely. Based on mutual availability, we do our best to replicate the on-campus interview process in a virtual setting. We do appreciate your flexibility and foresight in letting our office know if there are unique circumstances we should be aware of as we prepare for an interview, and ask that you contact us early if you anticipate unusual challenges with a Skype interview.

Is there a “group process” if I am abroad?
While there is not a “group process” for candidates abroad, we often ask candidates to prepare additional responses or written material as part of the interview process. This process will be expressed to any candidates who submit an application by the deadline, and is typically done in a time-sensitive manner.

What if I have worked for Residence Life in the past – what does the returning process look like from abroad?
If you have worked for Residence Life before, please fill out the Returning Candidate application. The interview process will be completed as described above.

How will I be notified of final placements?
Candidates will be notified via email of their placement in our process.
