Ongoing COVID-19 Campus Safety Protocols

Get tested.

Students: Testing once or twice weekly is mandatory for unvaccinated students, depending on on-campus residency and in-person activities.
Faculty/Staff: Testing once weekly is mandatory for unvaccinated faculty and staff members.
Testing and test kits are available in the Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services office, Wheelock 216.

Wear a mask.

Indoor masks required. Masks must be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status. This includes in meeting rooms, classrooms, and public areas.

Keep your distance.

Social distancing is encouraged for unvaccinated members of our community. As always, vaccinated or not, if you feel sick, stay home.

Wash your hands frequently.

Use soap and water, and scrub for at least 20 seconds (about the time it takes to hum the alma mater). You also can use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Disinfect objects and surfaces.

Use disinfecting wipes to clean surfaces and frequently touched objects like doorknobs and phones.

Have a (meal) plan.

All campus dining locations are open. Pick up gran-and-go options when possible and order ahead via the GET Mobile app to help reduce congestion at dining venues. Avoid sharing food and dining items with others.

Be stingy with your stuff.

Avoid sharing items or setting down your items in common areas, such as bathrooms. Use a tote to carry your items. If you need to share something, clean and disinfect it first.

Additional Precautions
  • All unvaccinated students, faculty, and staff must complete their daily self-screenings on myPugetSound
  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing is conducted for all high-touch surfaces, and physical barriers, such as plastic screens are installed between bathroom sinks, work stations, reception desks, and other high-contact areas. GPS auto cleaning systems have been installed on the air-handling systems in Wheelock Student Center and in high-traffic buildings on campus to improve air quality and eliminate airborne pathogens.
  • Campus visitors are asked to adhere to campus safety protocols. View COVID-19 visitor guidelines and procedures.
