Students are responsible for their class schedule and meeting registration deadlines. It is important to verify any changes made to your schedule by you, or office staff, have been done correctly.

The deadlines apply to courses that meet for the full term. Contact the Registrar's Office for information on the deadlines for courses that meet during the first session or second session of the term.

Note: A student registered for more than 4.25 academic units (or 4.75 units including at least .50 unit of activity credit) in the fall and spring terms is subject to a tuition overload fee unless the overload is alleviated by the last day to drop without record. Spring 2022 Registration Deadlines

Continuing students may begin registering during registration week (November 5 - 12 ).   Each student must be individually advised before registering. Undergraduate students will be released to register by their advisor. Once the initial registration is complete a student may add or drop courses and permission is not required. However, it is recommended that a student consult their advisor if significant changes are being made to their schedule. rom November 13 - 21 registration is closed.  Students may be registering again during open registration (November 22, 2021 - January 13, 2022 ).

January 18, 2022 is the first day of classes for the Spring 2022 semester and is the beginning of the Add/Drop Period.  From January 18 - January 25 students may add courses to their schedule with permission from the instructor.  The instructor may decide to add additional students. Although the wait-list process does not run, the instructor may choose to use the wait-list as a means to select additional students for the course. To authorize a student to add a class, the instructor can place the student on the permission to add list.  The student can then add the  class  through their myPugetsound account. A signed Add form or email correspondence from the instructor can also be will be accepted.  The last day to add a class or change a grade option (credit/no credit or audit) is January 25.

The last day to drop a class without record is January 31. From January 18 -January 31 a student may drop a course and the course will not be listed on the transcript. The student does not need the instructor's acknowledgement to drop. To drop a course, the student may sign in to their myPugetsound account or visit the Registrar's Office to complete and sign a Drop Form.

From February 1 - April 15, a student may drop a course and automatically receive a "W". The student must have the instructor's acknowledgement to withdraw from a course.  Contact the instructor and ask to be placed on the permission to withdraw list.  Once placed on the list the student can withdraw by signing into their mypugetsound account.  Students can also withdraw by sending email correspondence from the instructor, or bringing a signed Drop form to the Registrar's Office.  The last day to drop a class with an automatically assigned "W" grade is April 15. 

After the deadline to receive a W in  the semester students are expected to complete their classes with the instructor.  In some exceptional circumstances students can request an Incomplete for the course.

Fall 2021 Registration Deadlines

Continuing students may begin registering during registration week (April 5-9). Registration is closed from April 10- April 18. Continuing, returning, new transfer and graduate students may register during open registration (April 19 - August 19, 2021). Each student must be individually advised before registering. Undergraduate students will be released to register by their advisor. Once the initial registration is complete a student may add or drop courses and permission is not required. However, it is recommended that a student consult their advisor if significant changes are being made to their schedule.

If a class closes students have the option to wait-list. The wait-list is ordered by the date and time a student is added to the list. As seats become available students will be added.

August 30 is the first day of classes for the Fall 2021 semester and is the beginning of the Add/Drop Period. The last day to add a class is September 8. The instructor has control of class enrollment as of the first day of the term. The instructor may decide to add additional students. Although the wait-list process does not run, the instructor may choose to use the wait-list as a means to select additional students for the course. To authorize a student to add a class, the instructor will need the UPSID number from the student. The UPSID number will be added to the permission list for the class. The student will then be able to add the course to their schedule through their mypugetsound account. The student can also ask the instructor to sign an add/drop form which then can be brought to the Registrar's Office and a staff member will complete the registration. The last day to change your grade option or add a course as an auditor coincides with the last day to add a class.

The last day to drop a class without record is September 13 . From August 30 - September 13 a student may drop a course without record and it will not be listed on the transcript. The instructor's acknowledgement is not required. During the drop without record period, the student may sign-into the student portal through their myPugetSound account to use the Registration function or the student may visit the Registrar's Office to complete and sign a Drop Form.

The last day to drop a class with an automatically assigned "W" grade is November 19, 2021. From September 13 to November 19 a student may drop a course and automatically receive a "W". The student must have the instructor's acknowledgement to withdraw from a course. The student should contact the instructor to request to be added to the permission to drop list for the course. Once the student has been placed on the list the student can withdraw from the course through their myPugetSound account. The instructor can also sign an add/drop form and the student can bring the form to the Registrar's Office to be withdrawn.

Summer 2022 Registration Deadlines

There are three terms during the summer.  Summer registration is open to matriculated as well as non-matriculated students. There are no assigned registration times. Early registration for all terms begins on April 11, 2022.

If you are a non – graduating student continuing from the spring term, you may register, add, or drop courses for the summer session by signing into your student portal at my.PugetSound.edu. You do not need to have your advisor release you to register for the summer session. However, it is recommended that you speak with your advisor about your registration plans.

Non-matriculants. Students must complete a Non-matriculant Registration form. Bring the form to the Office of the Registrar (Jones Hall, room 13) by the last day to add for each term. The form can also be sent by email to registrar@pugetsound.edu.
