How would you describe your role and organization?

I oversee the direction and facilitation of all the educational programs and learning experiences at Bellevue Arts Museum. This covers everything from artist lectures and Docent-led tours to summer camps and teen programs. I work with a lot of other community organizations, artists, educators, and volunteers to plan new programs for new exhibitions and think a lot about how we can connect people to one another and the art in our galleries.

How would the skills and competencies gained through a liberal arts education be beneficial in the type of work you do?

My liberal arts education at UPS definitely allowed me to build and develop my skills in working with others and communicating effectively - both of which are crucial in any education career.

What can a student expect to experience by job shadowing you?

Students will be able to see behind-the-scenes at an art museum, and learn about the daily work we do to host exhibitions and put on programs for our visitors!
