We actively seek a diverse team of students to work in the CWL because we believe that it broadens perspectives on how to define good writing and effective learning, creates a community where more students feel represented, comfortable, and safe, and reflects the kind of campus we aspire to be.

Working at the CWL provides a powerful opportunity to connect with students from across campus, and make a meaningful difference in their time here at Puget Sound. Tutors not only provide useful feedback and guidance; they also help students feel a part of the academic and student community here on campus. AND tutoring is fantastic professional training: you think on your feet, learn to communicate with a variety of types of learners and people, and deepen your knowledge of your subject matter at the same time.

A student may apply to one or both positions, but must submit their application materials through Handshake to both positions, if they are interested in both. Students also may indicate they are interested in potentially tutoring multiple subjects in their cover letter, if that is the case.

We are now hiring for select positions for the Spring 2026 semester! Applications are open for:
  • Writing and Speaking Advisor
  • Subject Tutors for German, Japanese, and Physics

Come join our fantastic cohort of tutors. Training will be provided to all Spring-start tutors. You can find more information and how to apply here. Applications are due by mid-day, November 12.
