The Office for Intercultural Engagement affirms and honors the journey of students who are the first in their family to attain a bachelor’s or advanced degree. A first-generation college student is defined as someone whose parents did not obtain a 4-year college or university degree.
First-Generation Graduates Recognition

The First-Generation Graduates Recognition event is a casual and informal space to swing by and receive regalia. We acknowledge your contributions and the support of your loved ones through a drop-in recognition where #1 charms are available to tie to your cap tassel, as well as a printed postcard with the names and degrees of our first-generation graduates. Breakfast beverages and pastries will be available.
Please RSVP on this form by Friday, April 29 to be recognized as a first-generation graduate.
