Julie (Jacobson) Gates ’90 is an award-winning media executive and broadcaster who has dedicated her career to creating uplifting original content that connects people and brings communities together. With a journey that spans radio, television, and digital media, Julie has hosted more than 5,000 live radio shows, interviewed five U.S. presidents, and entertained over 20 million listeners as a morning host in major markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, and Atlanta. A recipient of radio’s highest honor, the National Association of Broadcasters’ Personality of the Year Marconi Award, Julie has also received a Women in Business Award from the Triangle Business Journal, been named one of the “People We Love” by D Magazine (Dallas), and featured as a “Mover & Shaker: People Who Make the City” by JEZEBEL Magazine (Atlanta). Her work has been highlighted on The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC’s Nightline, and in The New York Times. Today, Julie volunteers on the University of Puget Sound Alumni Council Executive Committee and is honored to host the Always a Logger podcast, where she shares stories of inspiring Puget Sound alumni who have taken their pursuits to the heights.
