Puget Sound students are known as "Loggers," so it only makes sense that we'd have a school hatchet! From the moment it was discovered in 1908 underneath a campus barn, our official hatchet has been repeatedly stolen, returned, engraved, taken on international trips, buried, and reportedly thrown from car to moving car. In 2008—one hundred years after its origin—the hatchet was finally returned and is now on display at the Wheelock Student Center.
Here’s some of the Puget Soundiest things about Puget Sound. We’re not going to explain them yet—it’ll give us something to talk about once you get here.
This is the sound of Logger culture: hack hack, chop chop!

Representing a field of knowledge and covered with graduating class years, the color post is located in the center of Karlen Quad.

LogJam! is jam-packed with food, activities, music, fireworks, and tons of other things worth exclaiming about!
