As part of your Passages orientation experience, we'll take you off campus for a wide variety of immersive experiences (IE) in small groups led by two returning students. Past IE include multi-day backpacking, car camping trips, urban farming, social justice and environmental activism, local Tacoma theater and visual arts experiences, and so many more!

Register for Passages in your myPugetSound portal and rank IE choices that appeal to you most. We'll do the rest!

Academic Orientation

This is your introduction to academic life at Puget Sound. You’ll meet your academic advisor and your peer advisor, and get to know other new students.

You’ll talk about your interests, review your class schedule, experience college classrooms, meet with faculty from all our academic programs, audition for music ensembles, and attend sessions on using all the resources of Collins Library.

Cap things off by attending Convocation, where you’ll be officially welcomed into our academic community by our President.

Summer Virtual Events

Join us over the summer for a virtual event series that will introduce you to current students, faculty, and staff. We’ve seen friendships form in chat, so don’t miss it!

"For me, the most helpful part of Passages orientation was being able to meet people who I am still lucky enough to call my friends."

"My Passages leaders were really good about just talking to us as peers and giving us realistic advice and answering any questions we had about the school."
