Historian Carolyn Dupont will lecture on her new book: an engaging mix of history and political science, Distorting Democracy will awaken Americans to the perils of our system by unveiling the Electoral College’s origins, history, and current problems. This book demonstrates that the system has no principled foundation, that it has changed dramatically over its 230–year history, and that it now threatens the legitimacy of our political system.

En este encuentro propondremos un brevísimo acercamiento a la literatura del Cono Sur, a través de una de sus autoras contemporáneas más destacadas: Fernanda Trías. Trabajaremos con los cuentos de su colección No soñarás flores (2016), para identificar allí algunas formas específicas de ver el mundo desde/a través del sur. Aprovecharemos también para reflexionar sobre la potencia de la traducción a la hora de imaginar otras formas de convivencia y haremos un ejercicio grupal a modo de experimento.
