University of Puget Sound Welcomes New Trustees

The University of Puget Sound Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome five newly elected trustees, effective July 1, 2024. As the university continues to chart its course for the future, trustees play a vital role. Their varied expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of Puget Sound and propelling its mission forward.

Beyond the cheering crowds and the final whistle, the journey of a college athlete is a demanding one. Recognizing this, the University of Puget Sound is taking a significant step in supporting the whole athlete by prioritizing the well-being and leadership development of its female student-athletes, thanks to a generous endowment of $1 million from 1991 graduate Christi Offutt and the Offutt Family Foundation.

First-Generation College Student Discovers Her Passions at the University of Puget Sound

Growing up, Angela Ronces-Cortes ’24 didn’t have a roadmap for getting into college. The daughter of immigrants, Ronces-Cortes knew she was interested in pursuing higher education, but wasn’t quite sure where to begin. All she knew for sure was that she wanted to go away to college and that some of her friends in her high school orchestra were thinking of applying to the School of Music at the University of Puget Sound.

University of Puget Sound Welcomes New Arches Editor

New Arches editor Lisa Kozleski ’94 started getting paid to write when she was 16, writing for her hometown paper in Woodland Park, Colo. Thanks to a well-timed conversation with admissions counselor W. Houston Dougharty ’83, she chose to study at Puget Sound where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors. Kozleski went on to work at newspapers of all sizes, including the South Pierce County Dispatch and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
