Puget Sound Flee Market

Puget Sound Women's League Flea Market

Tacoma’s Original Vintage and Creative Market is back on Saturday, March 21 at the University of Puget Sound Fieldhouse (N. 11th Street between Alder & Union). Fieldhouse Flea hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tickets are $5 for those 5 years old and up. Tickets will go on sale March 1 and all proceeds go to Puget Sound student scholarships.

The Fieldhouse Full of Fabulous Stuff is a Tacoma tradition, going strong since 1968. Each year, we gather some of the best vendors from the PNW, including delicious food options both inside and out, for one of the best days of shopping and supporting a great cause! We also have a few Women’s League favorites, including Logger Booty and the Jewelry and Boutique section, along with a return of our Book Nook, where all proceeds from sales also support students. Come check out candles, clothing, vintage and repurposed goods, art, pet goodies, cards, pottery, textiles, soaps, and salves and more! Grab coffee, grab lunch, and then keep on shopping!

MUSIC EVENTS

JOIN WOMEN'S LEAGUE

Women’s League members include UPS alumnae, neighbors and interested community members, and parents of current, future, or former students.  Throughout the academic year, we gather monthly on campus for lunch or evening programs.

Our primary purpose, in addition to the valued relationships members develop over our shared goals, is to support Puget Sound students by raising funds to provide scholarships. Our scholarship endowment principal totals nearly $1.4 million, and the earnings from that account enabled us to award $53,900 to fourteen students for the 2023-2024 academic year, an average of $3,850 per student.  Over the years since 1982, the Women’s League has awarded scholarships to more than 350 grateful students seeking financial assistance.

At our meetings students, faculty, or staff members are invited to our luncheon or evening meetings to present information about what’s happening at the university.  We enjoy a musical performance by a current School of Music student, reminisce about past activities from our long history, and we attend to our Women’s League business.  At our meetings, we also collect non-perishable food for the student food pantry.

Our primary means of raising funds is to sponsor the annual UPS Women’s League Flea Market held one Saturday in March.  This event was first launched by committed women in 1968 and continues today as a wonderful community event!  It is an “all hands on deck” event with jobs to fit every age and ability.

Of course, we always welcome tax-deductible donations to our endowment.

Why Did You Join the Women's League?

"I joined the Women's League because my Aunt Audrey McKnight ’42 first invited me to help her work the Flea Market. I have strong family ties to the university and have been around it all of my life. It seems natural to be involved in this wonderful organization whose mission is to remain curious life long learners while having a terrific time raising funds for student scholarships at the annual Field House Flea Market."

"The University of Puget Sound Women’s League has a long tradition of supporting students, and it’s rewarding to be a part of carrying on our important work. Plus, it’s just a wonderful group of people to share time and effort together."
