Keyboard Series: Ross Salvosa

The School of Music is pleased to welcome guest artist Ross Salvosa, performing music by Chopin, Stavinsky, and Filipino composers. Praised by Classical Music Daily as "expert, secure, and fluid," Salvosa is celebrated for his technical mastery at the piano and the emotional honesty he brings to his performances.

 

Faculty recital featuring Tracy Doyle, flute, with special guests

Join us for a Jacobsen Series concert featuring Tracy Doyle, flute, with special guests. The program, Landscapes in Sound, will include works by Esmail, Dicke, Farr, and Harrison. This faculty recital explores the many ways composers have turned to the natural world for inspiration. From birdsong and flowing water to shifting light, open skies, and elemental forces, each work on the program reflects a different facet of our relationship with nature.

Puget Sound Piano Trio with Allison Pohl, soprano

Join us for a Jacobsen Series concert featuring the Puget Sound Piano Trio — Maria Sampen, violin; Alistair MacRae, cello; and Ronaldo Rolim, piano; featuring special guest Allison Pohl, soprano. The program will include works by Shrude, Shostakovich, and Beethoven.
 

Music of the Aids Crisis

Join us for a special Jacobsen Series performance, Music of the Aids Crisis, conducted by Gerard Morris with piano soloist Kim Davenport, joined by 41 School of Music faculty, alumni, and students. The program will include works by Kevin Oldham, Fred Hersch, and Dan Welcher, featuring Oldham's "Concerto for Piano, Opus 14A," one of his largest works, composed after learning of his HIV diagnosis at age 28.

Jacobsen Series 2025-26 performances feature Puget Sound music faculty, renowned guest artists, and inspiring themed concerts. The School of Music is pleased to welcome Duo Diorama -- Winston Choi, piano, and Minghuan Xu, violin, known for bold programming and dynamic performances. The program will include music by Augusta Read Thomas, John Corigliano, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Harold Arlen/Leonard Bernstein.
