Keyboard Weekend: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's 150th Birthday Concert
As part of the 2025 Puget Sound Keyboard Weekend, the School of Music is pleased to celebrate Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's 150th birthday with a concert featuring Puget Sound music faculty and students performing Coleridge-Taylor's complete Twenty Four Negro Melodies, Op.59. This concert is free and open to the public.
The Puget Sound Keyboard Weekend is an annual event held every fall at the University of Puget Sound campus that features concerts performed by Puget Sound students and faculty, plus activities devoted to the community. This year, the Keyboard Weekend pays tribute to the Afro-British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, who was born 150 years ago and left a remarkable legacy that blazed a trail for future generations of Black composers.
