The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde’s dazzling comedy of manners, wonders if finding out that you are who you have been pretending to be is an absolute triumph or total disaster. Jack and Algernon juggle their country lives and city lives as befits elegant young gentlemen. But they haven’t really reckoned with the wit and skill of Gwendolyn and Cicely, who know the value of having a sensational diary and want the veneration aristocratic young ladies must certainly deserve.

This mandatory meeting is for all first-year and sophomore pre-health students to prepare for spring 2025 course registration.

All pre-health students who intend to apply to a professional health program within the next 1-2 years are required to attend this virtual meeting. This meeting is the first in a 2-part series that will help orient professional health program applicants to the application process, and how they'll work with the Health Professions Advising department throughout.

All new (first-year and transfer) pre-health students are required to attend this meeting as an initial orientation to pre-health advising at Puget Sound.

Each week this semester, the University Chaplaincy is hosting a 30-minute-or-less space for students, faculty, and staff to explore a wide range of ways to stay "spiritually centered" (whatever that means) in times of personal or social challenge. Each event's facilitator will explain the practice, invite those there to try it out, and send folks home with something they can try on their own terms.

The annual LGBTQIA+ Welcome is an opportunity for incoming students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual, agender, or as generally within the queer umbrella to meet and be welcomed by returning students, faculty, and staff who share these identities. Light refreshments will be served. We acknowledge the diversity of experiences and identities within this large umbrella while also recognizing the power of building relationships within and across identities.

The annual Students of Color Welcome is an opportunity for Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, bi- and multiracial students and those who identify as people of color to gather and welcome incoming students with these shared identities to campus. Light refreshments will be served. We acknowledge the diversity of experiences and identities within this large group while also recognizing the power of building relationships within and across identities, particularly at a predominantly white institution.
