Originating in 1953, the Brown & Haley Lecture Series became the first fully endowed lectureship in the history of Puget Sound in 1981. The lectures are intended to make significant contributions to the understanding of urgent problems confronting society, emphasizing perspectives in the social sciences or humanities. In recent years, the Brown & Haley Lecture Series has invited an emerging scholar to offer two lectures speaking to two or more fields during their two-day residency.

Christmas at Kilworth: A Festival of Lessons & Carols
The 45th Annual Festival of Lessons & Carols - Christmas at Kilworth - is set for Sunday, 12/7, at 7pm. This pre-Christmas service, adapted from the original Festival begun in 1918 at King's College Chapel in Cambridge, UK. The service blends anthems by the Adelphian Concert Choir, readings from the Christian story of the birth of Jesus, and community singing of Christmas carols and hymns. Donations of warm winter clothing and new children's toys are welcome in support of the Bryant Neighborhood Center.
