This event, coordinated by Strategic Nature, LLC and sponsored by the University of Puget Sound Office of Sustainability, will focus on exploring some of the ways that we can connect with nature, including through poetry, reflection, and movement. This event is free, but registration is strongly encouraged to reserve your spot. An agenda is included below - Puget Sound Community members are free to come for one or for all events. The starting point of all events will be the Thomas Hall Tahoma Room.
Museums to Minds: Dynamic Data Visualization in Kinetic Sculpture
Come see the cross-discipline work of summer research students in action - data from the Neshyba Physical Chemistry Lab displayed on the kinetic sculpture constructed by Prof. Hirsh's summer research student. Watch the sculpture's movement through mathematical formulas and chemistry data and hear from the artist and scientists behind the piece. The sculpture will run through its 5-8 minute sequence every 20 minutes, so please drop-in and see what we've been working on - you might even learn something new!
Trunk or Treat
Come enjoy some spooky community fun at the first University of Puget Sound Trunk or Treat! Puget Sound students will be handing out candy and Faculty, Staff & Tacoma community members are encouraged to bring their special little ones to Trunk or Treat! There will be a Welcome Table to check in at before you begin - kids under the age of 18 please be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or trusted adult.

Distinguished by Design: Handmade Books from Medieval to the Modern
Jane Connelly is the Archivist & Special Collections Librarian at the University of Puget Sound. Jane Carlin recently retired as the Director of Collins Library. Together, they have worked to enhance the unique collections of Collins Library and are delighted to present on the history of the book from medieval times to the present day.

Logger Late Nights and the Black Alumni Union present two-time Grammy Nominee Nathan Breedlove backed by his Jazz Trio. Come for an hour of original jazz which honors the traditions of our ancestors.
Nathan Breedlove is a twice Grammy-nominated jazz musician, composer and cosmic philosopher. Breedlove considers his music ‘storytelling’. Jazz music originated as the cry, joy and shout of the negro people. Nathan hears the calling to present this heritage throughout his life through love and music.
