Dr. Adam Goodman - The Deportation Machine: America’s Long History of Expelling Immigrants
Dr. Adam Goodman (History, University of Illinois Chicago) will be presenting on his book, The Deportation Machine: America’s Long History of Expelling Immigrants. Published by Princeton University Press, Goodman’s text is an analysis of the mechanisms, bureaucracies, and historical figures that have led to well over 50 million deportations dating back to the late nineteenth century.
Logger Wellbeing Week!
Join CHWS during Logger Wellbeing Week! From September 28 to October 2, we will be hosting events that support student wellness. Our big event will be the Logger Wellbeing Fair on Wednesday in the Rotunda. We will have staff from around the campus hosting booths with information and activities related to the 10 Dimensions of Wellness that we focus on here in CHWS. We will also be joined by the AIDS Health Foundation, who will be offering free STI testing.

A cross-cultural collaboration featuring trumpeter Volker Goetze, Kora master Ali Boulo Santo Cissoko and flamenco guitarist Alejandro Moreno, bridging traditional West African music with Spanish Flamenco and American Jazz. Sold out shows in Europe, and the only Pacific Northwest appearance. Presented by ASUPS Performing Arts
Abby Williams Hill Exhibit Reception: Points on the Way
Join us in celebrating the new permanent exhibit in Collins Memorial Library's East Reading Room, Points on the Way: Vistas from the Hill Family Road Trip, an Abby Williams Hill project. Refreshments, remarks, and a Q&A will be offered. The exhibit features nine stunning landscape paintings, archival item facsimiles, and accompanying graphics and text.
