Logger Athletics had a banner year in the 2025–26 season, with several teams and individuals reaching the conference and national championships, including women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track and field, and women’s crew. Overall, the Loggers finished in third place in the Northwest Conference’s all-sports standings — a major improvement from their eighth-place finish in 2024.
“Athletics is a core component of the co-curricular experience at Puget Sound. We are tremendously proud of our scholar-athletes who represent this university with pride and embody the very best of what it means to be a Logger,” President Isiaah Crawford said.
The Loggers’ success included conference co-championships for both women’s volleyball and women’s soccer, semi-final conference finishes for men’s and women’s basketball, NCAA Division III championship appearances for men’s cross country’s Cian Monaghan ’26, track and field athletes Kyrstin Wilson ’26 and Avery Keith ’27, and a national rowing championship appearance for the women’s crew team, which secured the only at-large NCAA bid from the Pacific Northwest, where both the 1V8+ and 2V8+ boats won the Petite Title.
“Puget Sound Athletics seeks to provide a transformative scholar-athlete experience and what a year to be a Logger! Today we celebrate a culture of excellence. From the competitive arena — with 44 NWC Athletes of the Week, 83 All-Conference selections, and three All-Americans — to the classroom, where our students excelled with 173 NWC Scholar-Athlete and 38 Academic All-District honors, our scholar-athletes truly define success,” said Director of Athletics Chelsea Herman.
This year, the Northwest Conference partnered with FloSports to stream live and on-demand athletic events, allowing fans to watch the Loggers from anywhere. In its first year, viewers tuned in to watch 819,665 minutes of Puget Sound sports.
In addition to the Loggers’ victories on the field, the university also celebrated the completion of significant upgrades to its baseball and softball facilities. These upgrades are part of ongoing investments the university is making in the Logger Athletics program to continue to provide holistic support for students, enhance the fan experience, and make Puget Sound a destination for championship athletics. Facility upgrades were made possible by philanthropic support from Puget Sound’s donors, including a $300,000 donation by the Ben B. Cheney Foundation to install a synthetic turf baseball infield.
Puget Sound scholar-athletes compete in NCAA Division III, which emphasizes a balance of academic and athletic excellence. The Loggers field 23 men’s, women’s, and coed teams. Logger Athletics events are available to watch on FloSports with a subscription. You can catch up on the latest news at loggerathletics.com.
