The School of Music is pleased to present this year's Bethel Schneebeck Organ Series featuring American concert organist Wyatt Smith.
Mrs. Schneebeck, Puget Sound parent, grandparent, and friend, was a long-time community leader along with her husband, Ed Schneebeck. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree in 1982, and in 1989, the Fritts organ in Kilworth Memorial Chapel was dedicated and named for Mrs. Schneebeck.
Join us for a lecture and piano recital featuring guest artist Susan Chan as part of the School of Music Keyboard Series. The program will include works by Zhou Long, Tan Dun, Alexina Louie, Lei Liang, and Zhang Zhao. Chan offers revelatory performances of “tremendous musicianship and technical mastery,” (Fanfare magazine) providing the “invaluable service of opening up new musical worlds to her audience(s).” (New York Concert Review)

The program will include works by Kevin Oldham, Fred Hersch, and Dan Welcher, featuring Oldham's "Concerto for Piano, Opus 14A," one of his largest works, composed after learning of his HIV diagnosis at age 28.
