Keyboard Series: Yevgeny Yontov
The School of Music is pleased to welcome guest artist Yevgeny Yontov as part of the 2025–26 Keyboard Series. The program will include works by Couperin, Haydn, Mozart, and Ravel. This is a ticketed event, free for students with ID.
Yevgeny Yontov has established himself as one of the leading Israeli pianists of his generation. As finalist in the 2017 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, he received the Prize for Best Performance of Chamber Music, and the Prize for the Best Israeli Pianist.
Other international top prizes include gold medals at the Wideman International Piano Competition and Berliner International Music Competition, as well as additional prizes at the Boesendorfer International Piano Competition, the Olga Kern International Piano Competition, and the Pinerolo International Piano Competition, among others.
Yontov has given masterclasses across the U.S., East Asia, and Israel. In 2018, he joined the faculty of Bowling Green State University, where he serves as associate professor of piano.
Join us for a piano masterclass on Wednesday, April 1 at 6 p.m., in Schneebeck Concert Hall, free and open to the public.
About the Series
The Jacobsen Series was established in 1984 in honor of Leonard Jacobsen, former chair and professor of Puget Sound’s piano department. Ticket sales support the Jacobsen Series Scholarship Fund, annual music scholarships awarded to outstanding student performers and scholars in the SAI international music organization. Thank you to our many patrons whose support has benefitted students and contributed to this successful series.
The Keyboard Series, now in its third year, features a dynamic lineup of charismatic guest artists.
