Orientation: Welcome Festival
Join us for a dinner sampling from our diner stations, including special Italian sodas and s'mores around the fire pit. Come spend time with your family before heading off to your first Residence Hall meeting of the year!
Orientation: Convocation
Convocation is the official welcome to Puget Sound from the President, the Associated Students of Puget Sound President, members of the President's Cabinet, and an Alumni representative.
Orientation: First Generation College Students Reception
Please join us for a welcome reception designed for first-generation college students and their family members. The University of Puget Sound defines a first-generation college student as anyone whose parent(s) have not attained a 4-year U.S. college degree. This reception will be an opportunity for connection with other incoming first-generation Loggers, as well as first-generation faculty and staff. Keeping in mind the many offerings for students on move-in day, family members are welcome to attend without their student. Light refreshments will be provided.
Orientation: International Student Orientation
The Office of International Programs (OIP) hosts this special International Orientation for students coming to campus from abroad. This meeting will orient students to life in the United States, resources with special attention to adapting to the U.S.'s academic culture, and connecting with other students coming to college from secondary schools outside the U.S.
Orientation: Grizz's Garage
Visit Grizz’s Garage for an inexpensive, reused, convenient, and sustainable way to approach outfitting your room! Check us out before heading to a retail store. Supplies are limited and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Most large items (mini-fridges, microwaves, storage units) sell out within the first 90 minutes of the sale. While we can accept both cash and card, small bills ($1s and $5s) are the preferred payment method.
Orientation: Campus Resource Tables
Stop by the Rotunda and the “slab” to pick up your Logger ID, complete your I-9 for campus employment, get help setting up your computers and connecting to the campus network, and chat with Campus Security staff.
Orientation: Move-in
General student move-in will begin at different intervals based on where you have been assigned to live. The intervals are created to allow maximum usage of your time and to avoid excessive waiting, which occurs when everyone arrives at the same time. Please see your myPugetSound housing portal to find your move-in time.
