Day Hike - Little Mashel Falls

Just under an hour drive away, join us for a 5-6 mile hike with about 600 feet of elevation gain to view three waterfalls along the Little Mashel River. Despite the name, these falls are far from little with the tallest waterfall plunging over 90 feet!

Day Hike - Olympic Peninsula

Spend the day hiking on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula! Not too far away from campus, the peninsula offers beautiful views year round!

Day Hike - Alpine Lake

Join us on a classic PNW adventure, a hike to an alpine lake! This trip will make the trek through Washington forest to get to some gorgeous mountain views and the most rewarding part, to find an alpine lake! Or maybe two! Halloween costumes encouraged!

Pedal Tacoma

In partnership with Sustainability Services, we will be biking to Point Defiance to do some trash pickup. Afterwards, enjoy some snacks and a trip to Ice Cream Social on us for all of your hard work! We have bikes and helmets available to borrow on a first-come-first-served basis and you are also welcome to bring your own.

Fall Break Backpacking - Cascades

Spend your fall break with us backpacking in the Cascade Range! Destress and disconnect from the semester and enjoy beautiful views, great company, and a chance to sleep under the stars (or clouds). We'll be sending two groups out this year!

Surfing - Westport

Hang ten with us and try out surfing in the PNW! Our leaders will work with you to show you the basics of surfing and give you time to try catching some waves. This is a beginner-friendly trip, but all experience levels are welcome! Participants should be comfortable and capable of swimming in the ocean. Wetsuit and surfboard rentals are included in the trip cost.

Community Campus Tree Walk

Celebrate the arrival of autumn with a peaceful and educational tree walk through the University of Puget Sound Campus. On this accessible route, we'll admire some of the campus's more than 1,500 trees and their histories. Sarah Low, Principal at Strategic Nature, and a certified arborist, will lead the walk, joined by veteran University groundskeeper Bill Boggs. Visitors from off-campus are welcome -- this walk is open to all!

Explore Vashon Island

Hop on the ferry with us and explore what Vashon Island, just a short distance away from campus, has to offer! We'll spend the day visiting the nature areas of the island and other points of interest.

Mystery Camp & Hike

Want to get out of town and leave your worries behind? Want to go somewhere awesome and for it to be a complete surprise? Join PSO on a mystery overnight camping and hiking trip. There will be amazing views and great company. It could be ocean, forests, mountains or even all three, so sign up for this unique adventure.

Camp & Hike - Golden Larches

In late September and Early October, the Larch trees located in the Cascade Range turn a golden yellow color. Join us for a weekend of camping and hiking to see these beautiful trees and spend time outside! While we hope the trees will be golden by the trip, each year has variances so there's a chance they will not have turned yet. Fun times and great people will be plenty, however!
