This work was undertaken in partnership with the Puyallup Tribal Language Program, and was carried forward by two class cohorts of the joint African American Studies/Environmental Policy and Decision-Making course on Environmental Racism. There will be a brief program, refreshments, and an invitation to go for a walk and see the signs.

Songs of Little Saigon is a feature documentary film about Vietnamese Americans whose musical talent, hope, and resilience propelled the rebuilding of their lives in Southern California after fleeing a war-torn Vietnam. In 2020-2021 this film was recognized and awarded in 13 film festivals nationally and internationally. Commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon by joining with others to watch this film and stay afterward for a discussion with community members Tuyet Nguyen, Minh Anh Hodge, Duy Nguyen, and host/creator/producer, Dr. Tina Huynh. (Film is 96 minutes).
