Join us for a conversation between award-winning author and filmmaker, Curtis Chin, and Associate Professor of African American Studies and author of Meet Behind Mars, Renee Simms.
Chin’s memoir, Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant, is about growing up as a Chinese American kid in 1980’s Detroit, coming out as gay in a working-class immigrant community, and finding his way as a first-generation college student at the University of Michigan.

The Neuroscience of Tarot - Book Launch
Art Science proudly features the book launch of "The Neuroscience of Tarot" by our very own Prof. Siddharth Ramakrishnan. Mixing Art, Science and Mysticism, the book moves from how we perceive images, form associations and metaphors, make intuitive leaps and gain insight. In this interactive workshop, Prof. Ramakrishnan will use brain maps and art to guide you through the neuroscience of imagery (using Tarot images as a tool). Talk, workshop and book signing.
