A product of a one night stand, abused in foster home after foster home, and raised sleeping in parks were just a few of the daunting obstacles in Monti’s journey from the streets to the stage.
This is an interactive presentation, designed to help students gain the problem solving skills needed to be successful, both inside and outside of the classroom. Through crowd participation, story telling, and poetry, students will be engaged, encouraged, and empowered to make it from the streets of their minds, to the stage of their dreams.
Senator Nobles is a proud Puget Sound alumna (‘06, MAT ’07). Not every career follows a direct path—and that’s okay. Paths to Purpose is an alumni speaker series that explores the idea of planned happenstance—the idea that being open to new experiences, taking risks, and saying “yes” to opportunities (even the unplannedones) can shape your future in powerful ways.

Module 3 provides hands-on practice and review of all aspects of sensory integration and praxis with a variety of assessments that were introduced in Module 2. During the onsite Module 3, participants will have an opportunity to clarify any questions they have about the information presented in the online instruction, practice assessment administration and scoring with peers, and, when possible, practice the assessments with children brought into the course.
Anna Brown, Cas Unruh, and Taylor Rees will be presenting their research on the use of forensic genetic genealogy in cold-case investigations, the investigative role, and ethics of true crime media, and the history of the arrest and conviction of alleged Tacoma Ax Murderer Jake Bird.
Everyone is welcome!
Join us for a guest lecture with Dr. Florian Wobser, Lecturer in Philosophy at University of Passau, Germany. Everyone is welcome!
As part of his residency at Puget Sound, Dr. Florian Wobser will deliver a lecture titled "Philosophical Education in the Anthropocene - Nature Ethics and Eco-Phenomenology". His talk is free and open to the campus community.
The Daedalus Lecture Series carves out a space for academic discussion, offering both a platform for sharing innovative work and the opportunity to come together as a diverse scholarly community. Rather than a teaching lecture, the presentations are conceived as a way to converse with and learn from one another in ways that enrich our community and broaden our interdisciplinary knowledge. Daedalus Lectures are intended to facilitate the sharing of research among colleagues.
The Swope Endowed Lecture supports speakers, artists, and lecturers to visit Puget Sound to deepen our engagement with issues related to faith, ethics, values, and religion in society. For Fall 2025, we are excited to welcome Dr. Vanessa Gomez Brake, the Senior Associate Dean for Religious and Spiritual Life at the University of Southern California. Dr. Gomez Brake's keynote address is titled "At the Intersections of Faith, Identity, and Power: Disrupting Christian Hegemony in Higher Education." The lecture is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.
