Student-directed and acted scenes from:
Dr. Jamilia Sherls ’05 is a proud Puget Sound alumna and currently serves as Director of the Office of Immunization for the Washington State Department of Health.
Not every career follows a straight line—and that’s okay. Paths to Purpose is an alumni speaker series that explores the concept of planned happenstance—the idea that being open to new experiences, taking risks, and saying “yes” to opportunities (even unexpected ones) can shape your future in powerful ways.
Are you interested in inspiring a student’s career, sharing stories from your time at Puget Sound, or chatting about campus life? The Maroon Society invites you to join us for Coffee With Alumni on Saturday, November 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the Wilson Welcome Center.
This event is a chance for alumni to connect with current students who are eager to hear your experiences and insights—all over a warm cup of coffee and great conversation. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts will be provided. We hope to see you there!
Dr. Ruth Wilson Gilmore will discuss her new book Abolition Geographies, what abolition means, talk about how students can be involved in abolition work, and to discuss why we need human-centered approaches to rethinking our carceral systems.
