Campus, Faculty, Students

The Princeton Review has included the University of Puget Sound in its Best Value Colleges for 2027 list, recognizing it as one of the best colleges in the nation for students looking for a quality education along with excellent career services at an affordable price.

“Being named a Best Value College by The Princeton Review is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and entire campus community,” President Isiaah Crawford said. “We strive every day to provide an exceptional liberal arts education that is both deeply transformative and accessible, ensuring our graduates are equipped with the skills, purpose, and knowledge to make a difference in the world.”

The Princeton Review chose 209 schools for its Best Value Colleges for 2027 list out of more than 650 colleges and universities surveyed. Selections were based on data from company surveys of administrators in 2025–2026, surveys of students attending the schools, and data from the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard on alumni career and salary statistics.

In all, The Princeton Review evaluated more than 40 data points across three core topics — academics, affordability, and career preparation — to tally Return on Investment (ROI) ratings for the colleges.

“We congratulate the University of Puget Sound and all the exceptional institutions that made our ‘Best Value Colleges for 2027’ lists,” Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review, said. “In our opinion, they are truly the most exceptional in the nation at delivering outstanding academics, affordable cost, and great career foundations. We recommend them highly to college applicants, and we salute them for all they do to help students with need afford to attend them via comparatively low sticker prices and/or extraordinarily generous financial aid — all while providing an amazing college experience that’s worth every penny.”

Puget Sound was also featured prominently in the 2027 edition of the company's annual book, The Best 392 Colleges. In addition to being named to the Best West and Green Colleges lists, Puget Sound earned strong national category placements, including #19 for Best College Radio Station and #23 for Best Athletic Facilities.
