The University of Puget Sound celebrated Logger Day Challenge on March 3, a day of pride and philanthropy. Together, 1,226 Loggers around the world rallied to raise $343,160 to support the next generation of change-makers and ensure that students can access a life-changing liberal arts education.
Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of Puget Sound showed their Logger spirit by making a difference in the lives of students now and years into the future. Donors gave generously this year to the area of campus they’re most passionate about, with the Puget Sound Fund’s area of greatest need designation garnering the most support, followed by football, men’s baseball, and financial aid.
Support came from across the nation and around the world with Loggers from 42 states and four countries contributing. Thirty-four percent of donors were alumni, 22% were parents, 14% were friends and community members, 8% were faculty or staff, 5% were grandparents, 4% were Greek Life alumni, and 4% were current Puget Sound students. Among alumni classes, the Class of 1986 saw the most representation, followed closely by the Classes of 2005, 2025, 2000, and 2002. This support not only provides critical resources that allow Puget Sound to ascend to ever greater heights — it is a testament to the value of a Puget Sound education and the impact Loggers have on the world.
