Dear Logger Parents and Families:

I am writing to update you about a threat made toward the University of Puget Sound, along with other public and private institutions, in an email to the University of Tulsa earlier this morning. Campus was placed in lockdown, which was lifted after the threat was determined to be non-credible. We have resumed normal campus operations.

You can find additional information in the message below, which went out to the campus community from Security Services.

Sincerely,

Isiaah Crawford, President

Subject: Important Update: Lockdown Lifted at University of Puget Sound
To: Campus Community

Dear Puget Sound campus community,

We want to provide you with detailed information regarding a situation this morning at the University of Puget Sound. At 7:47 a.m., Security Services established a lockdown / shelter-in-place order in response to a bomb threat received earlier in the morning. We did not receive the threat directly, but were mentioned along with approximately 25 public and private institutions, in an email threat to the University of Tulsa.

Tacoma Police Department quickly joined us on campus and searched the exterior of all buildings, then all interiors. They didn’t find anything unusual or suspicious in their search and cleared campus for normal activity at 8:52 a.m.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we worked through this situation. As always, the health and safety of our campus community is our top priority.

Sincerely,
Dave Ferber, Director of Security Services
