Logger Day Challenge Today cover image

Dear Members of the Campus Community,

It’s a great day to be a Logger!

Today is Logger Day Challenge—a day of celebration and pride for Loggers near and far. And we have a lot to celebrate!

Already this year, we announced the new Department of Environmental Studies & Sciences (ESS), invested in student success, were one of ten colleges selected to receive a Mellon Foundation grant to explore and reimagine the criminal justice system, further developed the university’s Climate Action Plan, were recognized as one of the Best National Liberal Arts Colleges by U.S. News & World Report, and were very recently named a top producer of Fulbright scholars once again. We are so proud of our students, faculty, and staff who are making a difference on campus, in Tacoma, and in their fields of endeavor.

You make it all possible: the research, discovery, and creative work that takes place across campus; the high acceptance rates to competitive professional and graduate programs; the guidance, mentorship and support of our students; and the sense of community that make Puget Sound the remarkable place it is.

Please join us for the festivities taking place all day on campus, starting with our Campus Coffee Break hosted by the Division of University Relations! I hope you follow along today as our broader Logger community demonstrates their support, and that you feel inspired to show your own Logger pride at pugetsound.edu/loggerdaychallenge.

Be proud, Logger Nation! Thank you for all you do—for each other, our community, and world. You truly make a difference.

Go Loggers!
