Dear Campus Community,

Please join me in welcoming our new provost, Drew Kerkhoff, to Puget Sound. Drew comes to us from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he most recently served as associate provost. His first day on campus is today, July 10.

A trained biologist, accomplished educator, scientist, and skilled administrator, Drew brings a deep appreciation for the transformative power of a liberal arts education, a commitment to faculty development, and a proven track record of supporting student success. I’m excited to have him join the Puget Sound team to help us advance our university’s strategic goals and continue to cultivate an academically rigorous, transformational, and supportive educational environment second to none.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Nick Kontogeorgopoulos for his service as interim provost during this past year. His steady hand in leading the Office of the Provost during this time of transition has been immensely helpful and I am very grateful to Nick for stepping into this important role.

You can read more about Drew’s background on our website and I hope you will take a moment this week to give our new provost a warm Logger welcome! We will host a welcome reception for him in early September and will share details about that event later this summer.

Sincerely,

Isiaah Crawford, Ph.D. | President
