The Department of Art and Art History awards various prizes and honors to recognize achievements in the studio art areas, juried student exhibitions and other occasions, and research writing in art history. Some scholarship aid is specifically reserved for art majors. These scholarships are awarded based on merit by the faculty.
Incoming first-year students or transfer students interested in majoring in studio art or art history are eligible to apply for one of our $5,000 Department of Art and Art History scholarships. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years of full-time undergraduate study, subject to maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrating distinctive achievement in art studies, and declaring a major in art. Selection will be made on the applicant’s potential for academic and artistic success and the merit of any materials submitted for review. The application deadline is January 15.
