Register for Learning Opportunities

Learning and development opportunities will be offered in-person, virtual, or hybrid by Technology Services staff members during October. If you would like to attend virtually, please be sure to register in order to receive the Zoom link. Campus members who attend a session will be entered to win a $25 Logger Store gift voucher! 

Are you still on Windows 10? This workshop is for you! Come get your questions answered about how to have a smooth upgrade to Windows 11. You’ll learn how to update on a personal or university computer, similarities and differences between Windows 10 and 11, and other useful tips and tricks.

Keeping your device updated is a key component of cybersecurity! Don’t leave your devices vulnerable after Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 on October 14th, 2025.

As faculty and staff members, we each have a responsibility to safeguard institutional data. One of the easiest ways to keep data secure is to use university approved systems. Not sure what systems are available? We’ll provide an overview and specific tips on managing access.

Report a Phish, Get a Fish

To give campus members a hands-on opportunity to practice how to recognize and respond to phishing, Technology Services will be sending a simulated phishing email in October. These emails will be crafted to look like real phishing emails and may contain benign links. 

Remember - real phishing emails may hit your inbox too. Be a cyber hero and report to TS! You may help save somebody else from falling for a scam. 

Report a phish, get a fish! Whether it’s a simulated or real phishing email, campus members who accurately report a phish using the Phish Alert Button in October will receive a small token of our appreciation for being a campus cyber hero. 

Here are ways you can prepare yourself to catch that phish!

Current faculty, staff, and students have access to a library of interactive learning modules about online security. Students - we are excited to announce that we've partnered with KnowBe4 this year to provide new content geared specifically for you! 

To access the resources, click on the KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training tile from login.pugetsound.edu and go to the Library tab to start exploring content. Check out our support article for more information on navigating the KnowBe4 platform.
