In our current information economy, math is everywhere. The people we date, the news we see, the influence of our votes, the candidates who win elections, the education we have access to, the jobs we get — all of it is underwritten by an invisible layer of math that few of us understand or even notice.

But whether we know it or not, our numeric literacy — whether we can speak the language of math — is a critical determinant of social and economic power.

January Campus Coffee Break

The Office of Institutional Equity & Diversity hopes you will not only join us for our 39th Annual MLK Jr. Celebration on January 23, but that you will also join us the next morning to continue the conversations over a cup of coffee!

All students, faculty and staff are invited to gather Friday, January 24, 9:30-10 a.m. in Wheelock Student Center, Rasmussen Rotunda.

We will have some thoughtful games and prizes to share along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, pastries, and gluten free donuts.
