As a prelude to the upcoming Troy the Hillian, in which we refer to August Wilson's magnificent Fences, we are featuring a staged reading of the play. Campus faculty, students, and administrators have generously donated their time to participate in the reading in Norton Clapp Theatre.

Artist, writer, and poet Daniela Molnar and Graphics Editor for the Washington Geologic Survey, Daniel Coe will discuss their complementary engagement with the language of cartography as a means of mapping change and inspiring emotive and embodied responses to climate change.

Meet artist Malini Gupta whose book, The Fortune Teller, is included in the Collins Library exhibit Changing the Conversation. As the artist states, "through this work I seek to investigate the deeply entrenched gender biases that plague the Indian society. It is comprised of 2 parts: part one is the game of Fortune Teller; part two is my personal childhood story. The Fortune Teller -- an unassuming childhood game that predicts your future based on choices you make.

The Collins Library is hosting an exhibit in the West Reading room related to America's war in Vietnam: Dissent and Resistance with the Military (see website https://wagingpeaceinvietnam.com/exhibits).

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, Dr. Siu offers a full reading of her latest children's book, Christopher the Ogre Cologre, It's Over! and reflects on the dangerous foundational fairytales still taught at schools, their origins, and the need to contest them with the power of our stories. What does a happily-ever-after actually look like in the context of truth-banning?
