The University of Puget Sound is committed to making sure everyone in our community can access and engage with information in a way that works for them. SensusAccess is part of that commitment. It is a self-service document conversion tool available to all UPS students, faculty, and staff that transforms files into more accessible formats. Supported file types include PDFs, Word documents, images, and more, with output options including audio (MP3), e-book (ePub and MOBI), Braille, and tagged PDF.
Whether you are a student who learns better by listening, a faculty member working to make your course materials more inclusive, or a staff member who needs a document in a different format, SensusAccess is here to help. No software installation is needed. Just upload your file, choose an output format, and the converted file will be sent to your email.
This tool is particularly useful for making course materials more accessible, supporting students with disabilities, and improving document usability across a variety of formats.

Convert a File
Use the form below to upload your document and select your output format. You will receive an email with your converted file when processing is complete.
About Conversion Quality
The quality of a converted file depends on the quality of the original document. A clearly formatted Word document or a clean, text-based PDF will typically produce a high-quality result. Documents that are scanned at an angle, contain handwriting, or include smudges or image artifacts may produce less accurate output — particularly when optical character recognition (OCR) is involved.
If your initial conversion does not meet your needs, try cleaning up the source document first. For image-based files, converting to a tagged PDF as an intermediate step before your final format can sometimes improve results.
