Dear Members of the Campus Community,

I write to share with you some important news about changes to our senior leadership team that will take place in academic year 2023.

After more than three decades of outstanding service to Puget Sound, Sherry Mondou plans to conclude her service as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on July 1, 2022, and formally retire following a period of sabbatical and project-based work on Jan. 1, 2023.

During her time at Puget Sound she has done exceptional work to shepherd the university through ever-changing economic conditions, worked closely with trustees to oversee significant growth in the university’s endowment, partnered with others to implement an inspiring 20-year campus master plan that transformed Puget Sound’s physical campus, and provided strong leadership to help the institution achieve strategic objectives and in recent months to navigate the pandemic. I deeply appreciate her commitment to remain with us throughout 2022 to support our comprehensive academic, administrative and auxiliary program review process and other key initiatives.

Vice President for University Relations Dave Beers has also made the decision that the time is right to conclude his service to Puget Sound, which will take place on July 15, 2022. The foundation for our comprehensive campaign will be firmly in place, and we will be in a good position to attract new leadership for our fundraising initiatives. Dave joined Puget Sound in 2005 and has been instrumental in the development of a robust constituent relations program to support the engagement of alumni, parents, and friends of the university, in addition to overseeing the largest comprehensive campaign in Puget Sound’s history.

Searches for both roles will begin next month, and I will have more information to share with you as that work gets underway. Meanwhile, I am sure you join me in wishing Sherry and Dave the best and thanking them for the strong foundation they have built during their many years of dedicated and exceptional service to Puget Sound.

Sincerely,

Isiaah
