Dear Members of the Campus Community,

Puget Sound faculty, staff, and students continue to work hard to protect the health and safety of our campus community. As the fall semester draws to a close, we thank you for your continued diligence and write to share some preliminary information about preparing for the spring semester.

The university’s COVID-19 Management Group and Emergency Policy Council are actively monitoring the evolving information about the COVID-19 Omicron variant and evaluating a range of possible campus responses depending on the research outcomes from the CDC and the State Department of Public Health related to the efficacy of our current vaccines in mitigating this new variant. We continue to be guided by the potential response protocols outlined on the COVID-19 dashboard on the university’s website, and encourage you to check this page regularly. Additional guidance will be shared with you in the coming weeks as more is learned about the new variant.

At this time, we continue to plan for an in-person campus experience in the spring semester and affirm that we require all students, faculty, and staff to take a COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arrival on campus following the winter break, with the expectation that you will isolate in place if you test positive. Additionally, we will continue with the campus gateway testing process for faculty, staff, and students upon your arrival as we did at the beginning of the fall semester, as well as randomized testing throughout the spring semester.

We got this Loggers!
