This course introduces the principles and practices of graphic design as a form of visual communication, cultural storytelling, and creative problem-solving. Students will explore how typography, imagery, composition, and color can be used to convey meaning, evoke emotion, and shape perception in a variety of contexts.
Through hands-on projects, readings, and critiques, we will examine how design functions not only in commercial spaces, but also in artistic, activist, and community-oriented settings. Students will learn to research, ideate, and develop design systems that communicate clearly while leaving room for experimentation and personal voice.
