Location: University of Puget Sound School of Music
Ages: Adult learners, college age and high school students of 15 years or older

Intro to Music Production is a hands-on, workshop style course that delves into contemporary music making and will provide a fundamental understanding of music production and songwriting technology. During this six week course, students will develop skills using their laptop computer and the free tools available online. They will learn about digital production techniques employed by professional music producers including methods for using sample-based music, synthesis-based music, and song structure analysis - with a goal of fostering one’s own creativity and building skills in the use of music technology.

This course is open to members of the public and to the campus community.  No previous musical experience is required.

This is a non-credit, community course and is not part of a degree program.

Advanced Music ProductionAdvanced Music Production

Dates: July 12 - August 16, 2023
Location: University of Puget Sound School of Music
Ages: 15 years - Adult

Advanced Music Production is a workshop-style course where students will learn how to level-up their music making, using nothing more than a laptop and available for free online. This six week course is targeted to those who already have experience with a Digital Audio Workstation like Garage band, Logic, or Live, and are interested in learning how to elevate their music to a professional level. Students will learn mixing techniques and production strategies used by professional music producers to get Spotify-ready sounds and bring musical ideas to life. 

This course is open to members of the public and to the campus community. Previous experience with Digital Audio Workstation is required.
