Noah
Hi! My name is Noah, and I am from Poulsbo, Washington. I am a senior double-majoring in Psychology and Business Leadership, and I am also a part of the Coolidge-Otis-Chapman honors program here on campus. I am a member of the men's soccer team, so I understand how hard it can be to balance your time, in addition to the books. In my free time, I love to listen to music (almost anything with good guitar), take pictures, and walk/hike. I look forward to working with you!
RubyHi there! My name is Ruby (she/her), and I’m a senior majoring in Biology and Music from Vancouver, WA. I absolutely love everything related to biology, but the plants we have here in the pacific northwest have my heart! Please drop by to chat with me about biology classes and concepts–I would love to meet you! Classes: BIOL 111 (Madlung), BIOL 112 (Tullis), BIOL 211 (Michael), BIOL 212 (Johnson), BIOL 213 (Thines), BIOL 381 (Crocker), BIOL 332 (Madlung), BIOL 350 (Martin) |

I am involved in various activities around campus - I’m a Biology Storeroom Assistant, I’m in Pre-Health Club, and I’m the President of our student government. AlexHi! I’m Alex (he/him), a senior majoring in Biochemistry and Mathematics. I’m from Beijing, China, but I love living in Tacoma. I love anything with wheels—especially bikes and cars (but not skateboards, because I fell pretty badly a couple of times!). When I’m not in class or tutoring, you’ll probably find me cooking, biking around, or playing card games and random Switch games with my housemates. There’s so much in the world to discover, and I think a great place to start is with ourselves—by exploring the fascinating biochemistry that keeps us alive and learning every day. |
CalHey there! My name is Cal, and I’m a senior Biochemistry major with a minor in Mathematics from Danville, California. Around campus, you can find me studying with my BFF Lungie, playing hacky sack with the Logger Baseball team at the field, or listening to music performances at Schneebeck and Kilworth. Outside of UPS, I love to fly fish with my Dad, play guitar with friends, and go on day trips to Seattle to find good food. Whenever I’m struggling to understand something in class, I’ve found that getting my thoughts out into words with someone else makes a huge difference, so feel free to stop by and we’ll work through it together! I’ve also got some studying tips that I’ve picked up along the way that I would love to share. Chemistry is hard, but we got this!!! Classes Taken: CHEM 110, 120, 250 (Boisvert), 251 (Boisvert), 231, 356, 460, 461, BIOL 212 (Johnson), BIOL 213 (Thynes) |
DillonHey!! My name is Dillon (they/he) and I’m a senior from Kailua, Hawaii! I’m a double major in Natural Science Chemistry and Neuro-bioethics with minors in Bioethics and STHS. I also work in the chemistry storeroom and do nanoparticle research with Professor Tollefson, so Thompson is basically a second dorm for me. Outside of that, you can find me participating in Curtain Call, doodling, or developing my list of the best restaurants in Tacoma (let’s compare notes!). While I absolutely love chemistry, I’ve had my fair share of issues with it before. So, if you don’t mind wacky analogies and silly drawings, don’t hesitate to drop by with any questions you have or just to chat! You got this! |
Luna WI’m so happy you’re here! My name is Luna (she/her), and I’m from Richmond, California (Bay Area). I’m a player on our ultimate frisbee team, Clearcut, and I love getting outside whenever I’m not in lab. On campus I also work for our campus visit program but you might also have seen me fulfilling some of my RA and general chemistry CA duties. While a lot of my life is chemistry focussed now, I absolutely hated the subject before coming to UPS. With that, please don’t hesitate to stop by and chat about either your love or frustrations with the subject because believe me, I’ve been there. |
