Dear faculty and staff colleagues,

I write to share with you the news that Jeremy Cucco, our Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President of Technology Services, has accepted a new role as Chief Information Officer of Mud Bay. Jeremy’s last day at Puget Sound will be August 5. As excited as we are for Jeremy to advance into this new leadership opportunity, after more than 7 years at Puget Sound, he will be missed.

Jeremy has led the Technology Services team in transforming the university’s network and wireless infrastructures and campus Learning Management System, expanding our ability to work and teach from any location, and making our data more secure at the same time. With Jeremy’s leadership, Technology Services transitioned the university from fully on-premise to fully-remote, over a weekend, in response to the COVID virus all while improving the student and faculty classroom experience through new media standards and transformative digital pedagogy. Jeremy leaves in place a team that is well-positioned to advance our institutional technology goals, including the transitions to Gmail and Zoom Phone that were previously announced and which will take place later this summer.

We will plan an event to celebrate and appreciate Jeremy in August. Please join us now in wishing him well in his next adventure.

We will soon launch a search to fill the CIO position. In the meantime, Matthew Link, Deputy Chief Information Officer, will serve in an interim CIO capacity. We appreciate Matthew’s willingness to serve during this interim period.

Thank you,

Kim
