Pops on the Lawn 2023

Join us for this annual, outdoor community favorite featuring the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble with student conductors! Bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of music in the great outdoors, celebrating the close to this eventful, academic year. 

Percussion Ensemble

Join us for the Puget Sound Percussion Ensemble, directed by Jeffery Lund, as they present "Refractions," a program featuring works by Cage, Goodenberger, Rouse, Schmitt, Bricusse, Newley, and more; performed by student soloists with special guests, the YUME Daiko Japanese drum group.

 

Chamber Music Concert I

Enjoy Puget Sound’s Chamber Music I, directed by Alistair MacRae, Cordelia Wikarski-Miedel Artist in Residence, Cello & Chamber Music.

A second concert with a different program will be performed on Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m.

 

Wind Ensemble and Concert Band

Join us for Puget Sound's Wind Ensemble and Concert Band spring concert, conducted by Gerard Morris with guest conductor Minna Stelzner and euphonium soloist William Lum '23, one of the School of Music's 2023 Concerto-Aria Competition winners, performing music that celebrates human connection.

Puget Sound's Symphony Orchestra with PLU's Symphony Orchestra

Puget Sound's Symphony Orchestra and Pacific Lutheran University's Symphony Orchestra join together for a collaborative concert performing blue cathedral, composed by Jennifer Higdon and Death and Transfiguration, composed by Richard Strauss; conducted by Anna Wittstruck and Jeffrey Bell-Hanson. The concert will feature Raine Filbert '23, mezzo-soprano, this year's winner of the School of Music's annual Concerto-Aria Competitio
