Orientation Coordinators 2019

They are Puget Sound.

The Orientation Program Coordinators (Coords for short!) are four student leaders that help plan the Orientation Program every year! From planning leader training to organizing transportation for 600+ people to working with countless on and off-campus groups and organizations, they do it all!

The Coords for 2019 are:

Mariah comes from a small town called Placerville, nestled in the Sierra Foothills of California. She is going into her senior year at UPS with a double major in Environmental Policy & Decision Making and Sociology & Anthropology. She spent the spring 2019 semester in Australia studying successful environmental campaigns and sustainability! You can find Mariah at working at the Information Center with fellow coord Amy, attending yoga club, playing for our co-ed club soccer team, or out on a hike thinking about cheesy naan. She is absolutely stoked about joining the coord team this year, and welcoming new students (potential new friends!) to campus.

Wahoo! Ruby is a Politics & Government and Environmental Policy & Decision Making double major from Minnetonka, MN. When she’s not studying, Ruby can be found beatboxing in the A Cappella group “What She Said,” tap dancing in the Repertory Dance Group, cross country skiing, or talking loudly. Additionally, Ruby works in the Office of Admission and she is ordained. Ruby is spending the spring 2019 semester in Tanzania but is stoked to be spending her summer in Tacoma planning the Orientation Program!

Amy is happy to call Centennial, Colorado home. She is a rising senior at UPS studying Politics and Government and International Political Economy with a minor in Global Development Studies. With a mouthful of a major like that, it's safe to say Amy spends a lot of her time trying to study in Diversions. In addition to academics, Amy is involved in Puget Sound Outdoors, KUPS, the Campus Visit Program, and has a job working at the information desk in the Wheelock Student Center. Her favorite hobbies include watching the Great British Baking Show and learning to climb outdoors. Amy is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with incoming students during Orientation 2019!

Addy grew up in Colorado, home to lots of beautiful mountains and even more weekend ski traffic. She is a rising senior studying Politics and Government and Economics, and is involved in Puget Sound Outdoors, What She Said a cappella, Greek Life, KUPS, and the Ski Shop on campus. Her worst fears include avalanches and the death of liberal democracy, and she aspires to be a disco cowgirl when she grows up. As an Orientation Coordinator this year, Addy can’t wait to welcome new students to their home at UPS!
