The Bioethics Emphasis and STS Program are proud to present: Prof. Tara Coffin (Puget Sound)
When: Thursday, Jan. 28, from 5:00-5:50pm
Where: Zoom Meeting ID: 961 8897 6915
About her presentation: The history of human subjects research is riddled with dark corners, when investigators failed the safety and well-being of those they were studying. In this discussion, you will learn what an IRB is, what role it plays in the research setting, and reflect on some of the ethical "gray areas" the IRB has to tackle on a daily basis.
About Prof. Coffin: Tara Coffin is an adjunct professor at the University of Puget Sound and a Regulatory Chair with WCG IRB. She received her MEd in Special Education and PhD in Public Health Genetics from the University of Washington. Before receiving her MEd, she graduated from the University of Puget Sound as an STS major!
