Tacoma, Wash. – In recognition of her leadership and philanthropy to University of Puget Sound, the college will dedicate the Susie L. Wilson Welcome Center in honor of trustee Susie L. Wilson ’87.  A private dedication ceremony for family and friends will be held on campus.

An inspiring point of entry for prospective students and families, the center creates a bold and lasting first impression of the university and serves as a contemporary, high-functioning space for the Office of Admission. Conveniently and visibly located at the east entrance to campus, the center is an inviting new home for the thousands of prospective students and their families who visit each year, providing a sense of hospitality, accessibility, and comfort, as well as a sense of excitement and anticipation about what it means to join the Logger community.

Earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in economics and business administration in 1987, Wilson achieved recognition in the Phi Kappa Phi and Mortar Board academic honor societies, and was an active student, participating in Kappa Alpha Theta and Alpha Kappa Psi. Wilson went on to have a successful career as an investment analyst and manager and was proactive in helping younger employees to chart their careers. Wilson was elected to the University of Puget Sound Board of Trustees in 2016, where she served with distinction until December 2019.
