Bystander Revolution Against Violence

BRAVe is part of the Division of Student Affairs Student Support Department. The primary responsibilities are to create and facilitate programming for the campus community to address issues of sexuality, healthy relationships, consent, and sexual assault prevention.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Learn more and get involved!

 

Past programming includes:

  • "Ice Cream, you scream, we all scream..NO MORE violence" - a break from midterms where students, faculty, and staff, can come and get ice cream while learning how to end rape culture and take a stand against power based personal violence
  • Green Dot Bystander Intervention Trainings - offered multiple times each semester
  • Sexual Assault Awareness Month - April
  • Candle Light Vigil - a new take on traditional Take Back the Night events where survivors are invited to participate in a silent, candle lit walk around campus to honor victims of sexual violence. November 8, 2017
  • "A Cup of Prevention" Campaign - stickers were placed on drink cups in Diversions, Oppenheimer, and the Aquatics Cafe with information about Domestic Violence Awareness Month. October 2017
  • Traditional Take Back the Night Week--Fall and Spring semesters 
  • Film Screenings--The Hunting Ground, It Happened Here, The Mask You Live In
  • Walk a Mile in Their Shoes--Spring 2016 (in collaboration with Sigma Alpha Epsilon-Washington Gamma)
  • The Clothesline Project--done annually since the 2000s.  
  • Consent Stories--Data collected at the University of Puget Sound on consent was presented, Fall 2016.
