The Puget Sound Grantwriters Association (PSGA) South Sound Funders Forum will once again offer nonprofits the opportunity to meet regional grant-making agencies at an informal breakfast and information-sharing event at University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma, on Friday, Dec. 7.

“The Puget Sound Grantwriters Association South Sound Funders Forum is the kind of event that creates a space for the all-important sharing of information and transparency between grant seekers and funders in our local nonprofit community, and sets the stage for clarity and ongoing communication among partners in this work,” said Holly Bamford Hunt, director of the Bamford Foundation.

Representatives from more than a dozen of Washington’s grant-making foundations and organizations will meet nonprofit professionals in an intimate, roundtable format at the university’s Wheelock Student Center.

“The feedback we get from these events is so positive, because it gives grant-writing professionals a chance to meet in person several of the trust and foundation representatives who may be able to help further their nonprofits’ causes,” said Jane Kenyon, Puget Sound corporate and foundation relations director and longtime PSGA member.

The program will begin with a networking breakfast, which will be followed by small group discussions. Attendees will participate in four 25-minute discussions with different grant-makers about funding priorities and the application process.

“I’m looking forward to participating this year, not only to share information about our foundation’s priorities, but to learn from grant seekers how we might reflect and improve on our process,” Bamford Hunt said. “It’s a shared learning experience.”
